Mike Wierzbicki is an aggressive trial lawyer who is passionate about helping people who have been seriously injured. Since joining Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates in 2002, Mike has become a force with distinction, obtaining tens of millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for personal injury victims and their families. He consistently fights for the powerless against insurance companies, corporations and government agencies. Mike is especially familiar with medical issues because, early on in his legal career, he defended doctors and hospitals in medical malpractice cases. The personal injury cases Mike has tried have involved: truck accidents automobile accidents premises liability nursing home abuse and neglect mild and severe traumatic brain injury chronic pain myofascial pain syndrome soft tissue injuries hip and pelvic fractures spine and spinal cord injury and rehabilitation product liability wrongful death construction injury slip and fall cases Mike has represented clients in Cook, Will, Lake, DuPage, Kane, Kankakee, Ford and Grundy counties. He has also litigated matters in the Illinois First District Appellate Court, the Illinois Second District Appellate Court and the Illinois Court of Claims. Honors and Awards Mike is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which are among the most prestigious groups of U.S. trial lawyers. As a law student, he earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award (given to the student with the highest course grade) in the study of contracts. Incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1982 by the law schools of Harvard University and the University of Minnesota, the Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction counts nearly all U.S. law schools in its membership.
