21,000 LG, Kenmore Gas Dryers Sold at Sears Recalled due to Fire, Burn Risks
LG Electronics and Sears have recalled approximately 21,000 gas dryers sold at Sears under the LG and Kenmore labels because the dryers pose fire and burn injury hazards to consumers, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
If you suffered an injury due to one of the faulty LG or Kenmore gas dryers listed below, a product liability attorney may be able to help you pursue financial compensation for medical costs, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other related damages.
The gas valves on the affected dryers can fail to turn off properly, which allows the dryers to continue heating after the drying cycle is complete. This can result in high temperatures both inside and on the exterior of the dryers.
So far, there have been more than 140 complaints related to these defective products, including reports of burns to consumers’ hands and arms.
