Skippy Peanut Butter Recall

 

Unilever United States, Inc., the manufacturer of Skippy peanut butter, has announced a recall of several products due to potential salmonella contamination. The recalled products include 16.3-ounce jars of Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread and Skippy Reduced Fat Super Chunk Peanut Butter Spread.

The contaminated jars were shipped to 16 states, including:

  • New York
  • New Jersey
  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Pennsylvania
  • Virginia

These jars have bar code numbers 048001006812 and 048001006782 with “use by” dates ranging from May 16 to May 21. The Skippy manufacturer has advised consumers possessing these jars to throw them away at once. You can call their headquarters at (800) 453-3432 to receive a replacement coupon.

Currently, there have been no illnesses reported in association with this contaminated peanut butter.
