Dalai Lama’s Nephew Dies in Car Accident

Jigme Norbu, the 45-year-old nephew of the Dalai Lama, died Monday night after being hit by a car in Florida. The car accident occurred while Norbu was walking along highway A1A in Flagler County. He was participating in a “Walk for Tibet” event at the time of the accident. The walk was to go from St. Augustine to West Palm Beach.

Norbu’s death was confirmed by a representative of the Dalai Lama. The Florida Highway Patrol has not announced the details surrounding the car accident, or whether the driver was at fault.

Drivers must share the road with pedestrians. They have a responsibility to take the precautions necessary to ensure that pedestrians are not placed in danger. This includes yielding the right of way to a pedestrian.

When pedestrians suffer an injury in a car accident caused by a negligent driver, they may be entitled to receive compensation for their damages. If the pedestrian dies as a result of the accident, as was the case with the Dalai Lama’s nephew, the victim’s family may be able to receive compensation through a wrongful death lawsuit. It is important to work with an experienced attorney who can make sure your rights are protected every step of the way.
