5-Year-Old Child Killed in Dog Bite Attack
A 5-year-old boy from Alabama was attacked and killed by multiple dogs on Monday. According to the coroner who examined the boy, it is possible that as many as 12 dogs were involved in the dog bite attack. The boy had multiple bite marks throughout his body.
The dog bite attack occurred at about 1:00 in the afternoon at a home near where the boy lived. The boy was rushed to the hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead about an hour and a half later. All of the dogs involved have been rounded up and sent to Auburn University to be studied. They will eventually be euthanized.
The dogs are not believed to be wild. Rather, it seems that they were fenced in at the house and somehow were able to get loose.
The boy’s family is very distraught over the loss of their son. A fund has already been established in his name.
Dog owners have an obligation to make sure their animal is properly supervised so that it does not harm others nearby. When dog owners fail to take the proper precautions, they can be held liable for the injuries caused by their animal.
