2-Year-Old Girl Killed in Car Accident
A 2-year-old girl was hit last night by a vehicle driven by her mother’s boyfriend. She was taken to a local hospital after being struck in the car accident, where she eventually died later that evening.
A Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson claims that the driver of the pickup truck was helping his girlfriend move. As he left for the day, he ran over his girlfriend’s young daughter in the street in front of their house. The man stated he was under the impression that all of the children had gone inside the house. He never knew the young girl was standing in front of his vehicle.
State troopers are currently investigating the car accident and charges may be brought once their investigation is complete. However, FHP said the driver will most likely not face criminal charges in the incident.
A neighbor indicated she was not surprised by the wrongful death of the young girl. “We see them outside a lot, unsupervised,” she said.
If you have lost a loved one in a car accident caused by another driver’s negligence, you may be entitled to receive compensation through a wrongful death lawsuit. It is important to work with an experienced attorney who can make sure your rights are protected in court.
