Pennsylvania Auto Insurance Attorney

The state of Pennsylvania requires automobile drivers to purchase bodily injury liability coverage and property damage liability coverage. At a minimum, the driver must have bodily injury liability coverage of at least $15,000 per person injured in any one accident and $30,000 total for all persons injured in any one accident. Additionally, the driver must have a minimum of $5,000 property damage liability coverage for the destruction of the property of others as a result of an automobile accident. This is often represented as 15/30/5 coverage. Pennsylvania state law requires the purchase of personal injury protection coverage of at least $5,000 to cover reasonable and necessary medical expenses sustained by the policyholder or the policyholder's passengers, without regard to fault.

Pennsylvania follows a No-Fault system where the motorist may choose tort options that define the motorist's right to compensation after an accident. Motorists may choose between Full Tort and Limited Tort. Please check state insurance regulations to determine the current details of the Pennsylvania Tort/No-Fault system.
