The state of Oregon requires automobile drivers to purchase bodily injury liability coverage and property damage liability coverage. At a minimum, the driver must have bodily injury liability coverage of at least $25,000 per person injured in any one accident and $50,000 total for all persons injured in any one accident. Additionally, the driver must have a minimum of $10,000 property damage liability coverage for the destruction of the property of others as a result of an automobile accident. This is often represented as 25/50/10 coverage. Oregon state law requires the purchase of personal injury protection coverage of at least $15,000 to cover reasonable and necessary medical, rehabilitation, and work loss expenses sustained by the policyholder or the policyholder's passengers, without regard to fault.
Automobile drivers must purchase uninsured motorist/underinsured motorist bodily injury coverage. This type of insurance is meant to cover bodily injuries caused by an uninsured/underinsured driver. At a minimum, the driver must have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage of at least $25,000 per person injured in any one accident and $50,000 total for all persons injured in any one accident caused by an uninsured/underinsured
